Silyanka/Crisis

There are many Ukrainian folk ornaments that, despite complex historical and cultural layers and influences, have preserved their originality and uniqueness. Like, for example, a crisis. This is an ancient decoration made of beads in the form of a wide collar that covers the shoulders, chest and back of a woman. The kriza is considered a traditional decoration of the Lemko women's costume.

Silyanka is similar in theme. The name of this decoration comes from the word "silyan" - the technique of stringing beads on a thread. Ukrainians believed that a sylyanka could serve as a talisman and bring happiness.
